Mac OS X 10.4.6 upgrade

This week Apple distributed an update to its latest OS. Two things I notice after upgrading:

1. when I nfs mount a directory from a *NIX server, the mount-point dir immediately vanishes in the Finder
2. My Spotlight menu in the Finder is unresponsive, and searching for things is not as reliable update: a reboot fixed that.

x11vnc: a VNC server for real X displays

x11vnc allows one to remotely view and interact with real X displays (i.e. a display corresponding to a physical monitor, keyboard, and mouse) with any VNC viewer. In this way it plays the role for Unix/X11 that WinVNC plays for Windows.
